Competition Dates:

11th June, 2019 (Category A & B)

12th June, 2019 (Open Category)



  1. The competition is open for Indian nationals only.

  2. Organisers and relatives of the organisers are restricted from being a part of the competition.

  3. First prize winners of last year's competition are barred from taking part in this year's competition.

  4. The competition is for solo classical guitar performance only and is divided into three (3) categories based on the age of the participants as on 1st June, 2019. Category A (9 to 12 years of age), Category B (13 to 17 years of age) and Open Category (13 to 30 years of age).

  5. A valid Photo Identity proof and Age proof should be shown before the start of the participant's performance.

  6. The competition is strictly for the nylon strings classical guitar and no other instrument versions will be accepted.

  7. Candidates must bring their own guitar for their performances and remain solely responsible for their instruments.

  8. Maintain a formal dress code during the performance.

  9. Be present at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time for warm-up and settling in. Late entries will not be tolerated and will be disqualified.

  10. The order of performance in the competition is based on the candidates’ names in alphabetical order only.

  11. The competition music pieces can be played using the score or from memory.

  12. Two (2) extra copies of the scores should be provided for Jury reference.

  13. One Set Piece from the list is compulsory with addition of free choice programme which together makes up the total competition time according to the category’s limit.

  14. There will be a single round of competition for each category. The time limits of each category are mentioned here. Category A: 2 - 4 mins, Category B: 8 - 10 mins and Open Category: 10 - 13 mins.

  15. Time limit for each category must strictly be followed. The jury reserves the right to stop the performance if the duration exceeds the time limits.

  16. All decisions of the Jury are final and no circumstances will be accepted.

  17. The competition registration fee is INR 2500/- (Two Thousand Five Hundred only). A separate registration fee of INR 800/- (Eight Hundred only) will be required for attending the masterclass sessions, so please tick the boxes appropriately while filling in the form.

  18. Masterclass with certain artistes are priced differently at INR 1000. Participants are required to submit a video of their live playing to register for session with these artistes (Submit YouTube link as a mail to This is to maintain a fair standard of teaching and performance. 

  19. Masterclass sessions will be registered only on first come first serve basis.

  20. Registration closes on the 31st of May, 2019, 12 A.M. (Indian Standard Time)

  21. Any registration form found to contain false or inaccurate information may result in the candidate's disqualification.

  22. The Organisers reserves the exclusive right to record, photograph or disseminate any and all stages in the competition in any manner whatsoever.

  23. Any candidate who fails to abide by the competition rules may be disqualified.
